Penguins Collect Vital Division Points in 4-2 Win at Islanders
Pittsburgh’s penalty kill put forth a perfect 7-for-7 effort against the Islanders a week removed from allowing two goals on two chances, and the Penguins grinded out another division win Tuesday on Long Island.
The win moved the Penguins to first in the Atlantic Division and Eastern Conference.
James Neal, Brandon Sutter, Simon Despres and Pascal Dupuis scored for the Penguins, who held off a fierce third-period Islanders rally to earn their fourth straight win. The Penguins have now won five of their six contests against division opponents so far, a huge start in a season in which nearly two-fifths of their regular-season schedule will be played against their four Atlantic Division rivals.
